A Dark and Hollow Star by Ashley Shuttleworth

Greetings Stack Worms!  One last old review post for the night. I am planning on re-reading this book and giving more of a thorough review, but I'm waiting for the second book for that. So here is my tiny review of A Dark and Hollow Star.  My heart was alight like dozens of glow sticks while reading this. I loved every inch of this book! I squeed and laughed so many times that I just couldn't give it less than 5 stars. Also, it's nice to see so much representation. Especially w/ Arlo being confirmed to be Pansexual...like me! Yay! Anyway, when I was reading this, I saw a lot of myself in Hero actually. Way too many similarities in personalities. Except I know better than to lord over my enemies while they're still alive. And I kind of wanted Hero and Lethe to be more of a thing than they were but I understand why they weren't. My Favorite Characters: Lethe, Nos, Arlo, Cel, Luck. I'm hoping to like Aurelian and Vehan more during the second book.

The Queen of Nothing (The Folk of the Air #3) by Holly Black

Greetings Stack Worms!  Here's another one from the Goodreads archive. I read this one for my March TBR theme of Fae. It's short, I plan on having more detailed and lengthy reviews during May. Now I've had a long history with Holly Black. I've been reading her since Sixth grade with my first book Tithe. Which I adored.  Is it wrong that I want more? I kind of feel like there'll be more. There's a hint of a new couple starting near the end so I'm wanting to see their journey. I thought this was a solid end to this series. There wasn't a huge pacing problem this time. The first two should have been much longer but this one felt the right length. Holly Black is one of my immediate buys and this cemented why. I gave this book 4 stars.

Wolf Moon by David Irons

Greetings Stack Worms!  This is an old review that I'm rather proud of, especially since the author himself liked it! I have it posted on my Goodreads, but I wanted to add it here as well. Now, this is from my theme TBR back in January and February which was Werewolf and I called Wolfuary. I know I'm not clever. Anyway, here it is.  I'm not great w/ summaries but let's get it out of the way, shall we? Firstly, I'll keep the top half as spoiler-free as possible. In the future of 2083...one would say a motley crew (haha see what I did there? Yeah I know I'm not funny) of miners are hired to go asteroid digging for silver (hm I wonder if in a werewolf book that silver will be a Checkov's gun) when they get a distress call from a seemingly abandoned escape pod. Of course, they rescue said person from said pod, who's in extremely bad shape. Like dude shouldn't have a shape with how little there seemed to be left of him. They patch him up and try to head...

TBR: May Theme: MAGIC

Greetings Stack Worms!  Today is just announcing what the theme is for May and what I'll most likely be trying to read. The books are subject to change: either in numbers or the books themselves.  Okay, so this month's theme is: MAGIC!  A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik  Burn the Dark by S.A. Hunt  The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco  There is a tentative fourth book, but three for right now.

Kill the Farm Boy by Delilah S. Dawson & Kevin Hearne

Greetings Stack Worms!  April is finally coming to an end. I have had a run of bad luck this month with books. And Kill the Farm Boy didn't change that. This month's theme was Comedy. I first read Kings of the Wyld, good book and it had some funny lines. But not what I'd consider "comedy" I got some bad advice on this one. Then I read Mort, I could see why people find it funny but it wasn't for me.  Kill the Farm Boy was the second-to-last book I had planned, however, I hit a reading slump. Hard. So, when I got to this one I was kind of worn out. That might have also played into how I read and rated it. But I think I gave it more than a far chance with over 100 pages into the story. Got a sense of the kind of humor I was going to be dealing with...stupid. I loathe stupid humor. You know things like poop, piss, and fart jokes. While if utilized sparingly can be funny, this was constant. I don't want to read every other page that the so call Chosen One Donk...

Welcome to the Stacks!

Hello Fellow Stack Worms!  My name is Danni! However, you may call me Bug. It's an old nickname I'm fond of. I earned it back during my entomology days.  Anyway, this blog is primarily for books. The love, collecting, and obsession of books. Plus reviews. Yes, I will review the books that I read! Lol... ^^; yeah I know I'm not funny. Though, I will try to be. My reviews are pretty sarcastic but usually sincere critiques of what I've read. Also, I do swear like a sailor. I will try and keep it to a bare minimum. I know not everyone likes a crude, rude, and sarcastic smartass.  I will warn you I tend to be very honest in my opinions. If I do not like something I will say it, if I do I will sing it to the world, and if it's meh I'll probably have about the same kind of energy in my writing. The worst you can do is bore me as a reader. No, actually, the worst thing you can do is make me angry because then I'll DNF the book as if lightning struck me.  Since Sept...
