Kill the Farm Boy by Delilah S. Dawson & Kevin Hearne

 Greetings Stack Worms!

April is finally coming to an end. I have had a run of bad luck this month with books. And Kill the Farm Boy didn't change that. This month's theme was Comedy. I first read Kings of the Wyld, good book and it had some funny lines. But not what I'd consider "comedy" I got some bad advice on this one. Then I read Mort, I could see why people find it funny but it wasn't for me.

Kill the Farm Boy was the second-to-last book I had planned, however, I hit a reading slump. Hard. So, when I got to this one I was kind of worn out. That might have also played into how I read and rated it. But I think I gave it more than a far chance with over 100 pages into the story. Got a sense of the kind of humor I was going to be dealing with...stupid. I loathe stupid humor. You know things like poop, piss, and fart jokes. While if utilized sparingly can be funny, this was constant. I don't want to read every other page that the so call Chosen One Donkey poops on every other page. Thank you!

The beginning was so promising. Then I just lost interest. Which is sad because there was a sapphic romance blossoming. I was hoping to finish it for this reason. But I couldn't bring myself to continue.

I rated it 1 star. I know some people don't rate the books they DNF. I do though because there are reasons why I don't finish and I feel like that's worth giving my two cents. Now if I feel like I may go back to it someday. If I do and I finish I'll change my rating and give it a proper review. Until then I'm moving on to my May theme reads.
