Bookish/Writing Updates
Greetings Stack Worms!
I know it has been a little bit since I've posted or even updated on Goodreads, but lately, I've been a little obsessed with watching Subnautica Playthroughs and a color-by-number game app. Sorry. However, it's only the middle of May I still have time.
I did get to 2,000 words in my short story that I'm writing. The limit is 5,000. Since there isn't a lot of room in the anthology and a lot of people submitting, I don't think it'll be picked, but I promised myself if I survived my Upper GI that I'd finally do some submissions.
I did get some new books in!
- The Monster Club by R. Chetwynd-Hayes
- The Elementals by Michael McDowell
- Blackwater: The Complete Saga by Michael McDowell
- Count Crowley: Reluctant Midnight Monster Hunter by David Dastmalchian (graphic novel)
- The Ones We're Meant to Find by Joan He
Did y'all hear what happened last weekend with Amazon? Apparently, Amazon Kindle decided that it was going to delete 70 books from an indie publisher. Encyclopocalypse Publications https://twitter.com/EnPocalypsePub tried hard to get themselves unblocked. However, without even giving them a chance to correct what they "supposedly" did wrong, AmazonKDP wouldn't reinstate their account. Until a week and a lot of stink from the horror community later.
I really wish indie publishers would choose a different company than Amazon to sell through. I don't like giving Jeff Bezos any more money. If I can buy the indie book that I want from another shop that's where I get it from, but sometimes there aren't any other options, sadly.
