Books/Writing/Reading Update

GREETINGS STACK WORMS!!!!!!!!!!! So...I'm a bit behind in reading. Yeah, I'm sure you are saying typical if you've actually been reading me. Those that are new; Hi, I'm Bug. I'm a slow-ass reader with depression, so reading slumps happen...often. I try my best though. I know I've read a hell of a lot more this year than I have before and that's an accomplishment. So, I'm going to see it as such.  Since we last talked my short story was published on The Author's Porch blog:  https://theauthorsporch.com/2021/09/18/the-tale-of-adam-by-danni-bowen/ . Please, comment and like? Unless you didn't enjoy the read then I approve constructive criticism. I also might have another writing job. I will post more on that later.  I got a few books, mostly multiple copies of one, but yeah I got a few:  - The Iron Raven by Julie Kagawa (Fairyloot edition) - The Tensorate Series by Neon Yang (this is a collection of the 4 books) - Leviathan Wakes by James S. A. Co...

Goosebumps #11: The Haunted Mask by R.L. Stine

GREETINGS STACK WORMS!!!!!!!! Oktober is so close now I can smell it in the wind! No, I did not spell that wrong. It's the German spelling. I prefer it. Also, because my blood is mostly German. Anyway, on to the arguably most famous Goosebumps book, The Haunted Mask!  TRIGGER WARNING!!!!!!! - Bullying  - Mild Violence SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Carly Beth (yeah, that's not hyphenated, though it should be) is the most adorable scardy cat in her entire school. People just can't help but torture her...not even her friends. So tired of being scareable and teased by Chuck and Steve, she decides to get even. But how? Carly Beth visits a party store Halloween night to find a scary mask...and boy did she find one. However, the mask is strange in how real it looks and feels. Plus, the shopkeeper seemed reluctant to sell her the mask. What kind of mask is it? Who cares? It's super scary and it'll just kill Chuck and Steve!  Too bad it doesn't actually kill them. But...

Goosebumps #7: Night of the Living Dummy by R.L. Stine

Greetings Stack Worms!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy shit! It's been almost two weeks since I last wrote! I'm so sorry. I'm working a lot and it's been fucking with my depression, so now I gotta play catch up. Not only with the writing but also with reading. Thankfully, I have an extra month. I know it would be passed Halloween, but November is still very much Spoopy season for me. Also, the only thing I have planned for that month is NaNoWriMo and writing doesn't take me as long as reading does.  Anyway, let's get on with it then!  TRIGGER WARNING!!!!!!!!! - Animal abuse (from a dummy)  SPOILER WARNING!!!! Night of the Living Dummy is about Twins Lindy and Kris. They tend to compete in everything. When Lindy finds a dummy that she names Slappy, Kris gets jealous of all the attention that her sister is getting. So, she decides that she too wants to become a ventriloquist. This just pisses Lindy off! Kris is always copying her and for once Lindy wanted something for hersel...

Books/Writing/Reading Updates

GREETING STACK WORMS!!!!!!!! Good news y'all! I've turned in my first review it's not getting published because it was a negative review and well I'm pretty sour with my words. Even when I don't mean to be...tough love? 😓 But this did not get me "fired". I will be posting my review here in a little bit.  My story, The Tale of Adam, has finally got a spot on a writing website! Yay!  For the monthly reads, I'm currently on book six in the Goosebumps series. Which is Let's Get Invisible. I know I'm a few books behind, but I am doing it. There are a few titles that I'm really looking forward to. I have a mixed bag on the Goosebumps cover, but I'll be adding those to my reviews. I will only be reviewing books in the series that I consider 4 stars. I thought I'd reiterated that just in case you didn't read the first review.  I got a few books lately:  - Dracula (Season Edition - Fall) by Brom Stoker - Anne of Green gables (...

Goosebumps #1: Welcome to Dead House by R.L. Stine

Image
Welcome Stack Worms!! Alright, time for the first book in the Classic Goosebumps series by R.L. Stine. Now, I'm 92% sure that you have heard about, if not read or watched, Goosebumps. Currently, they are nostalgic for people who grew up with it, but others see it as super cheesy and bad. But what people don't know about me is that I love cheesy/bad horror books/movies. Yet, there is one thing that the old and young agree on: the original covers were the bomb!  Tim Jacobus has done most of the Goosebumps covers. Other artists are Brandon Dorman, Mark Nagata, Craig White, Jim Thiesen, and Stanislaw Fernandes. SPOILER WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 👇 TRIGGER WARNING:  - The dog dies PLOT:  Amanda, 12 years old, and her brother 11-year-old brother, Josh are forced to move to Dark Falls; so that their father can start his writing career. While the house is gloomy it's rather large, so Amanda decides to give it a chance. Bratty Jo...
